About The Refuge
The Refuge is a local, Bible-believing church where Scripture is taken seriously, people are known personally, and second chances become visible in the life of the church.
We believe the Bible should stand above personal opinion, and the grace of Christ should change how we show up for people.

Teaching at The Refuge is meant to keep human personality and preference secondary to the Word of God. The goal is not to build a church around a personality, but to help people know and follow Jesus Christ.

Second chances in practice
The Refuge's established identity is rooted in second chances. That can look like a public step of baptism, steady relationships in a small church, practical care, or spiritual support during a difficult season.
We want to speak about restoration without using anyone's story as a slogan. Dignity, honesty, and patient presence matter.
Leadership
These biographies are condensed from leadership information supplied by the church and will be confirmed before launch. Current headshots are still requested.
Pastor
Bryan's background includes emergency dispatch, reserve law enforcement, volunteer fire service, pastoral ministry in Michigan and Vermont, and teaching ministry in Myanmar. He serves as chaplain to the Whitley County Sheriff's Department and supports participants in the county's Jail Chemical Addiction Program. His ministry is centered on sharing the Word of God and the love of Christ with people in every season of life.
Trustee
Michelle has deep roots in Whitley County and serves The Refuge as a trustee. Her years of service in 4-H and her willingness to help wherever needed reflect a longstanding commitment to local families and young people.
Building Trustee
Miranda is a lifelong Whitley County resident who has served The Refuge as a building trustee. Her work in the church and community reflects a steady commitment to organization, service, and the development of local young people.
